Generative animation tipps?
Apr 16th, 2007, 9:30pm

Hi everyone,

I have the strong desire to make a small project using sensors and GENERATIVE ANIMATION techniques in processing (I'm interested in vector based creatures, life simulations and the like), but I'm not very much a high level coder (Some Actionscript and Visual Basic before). I've been looking at REAS' work and also some guy's called Michael Chang...and I'm really thrilled!

I wonder if someone can give me  hints on where to find good code examples or learning sources about the subject, better said, where the hell did you learn to do that??? No joke, I admire this processing initiative and would like to start doing better stuff...but it still looks a bit like hidden knowledge for computer scientists...

Can somebody give advice?

Best,

The best thing you could do, is go through every short learning example program : http://processing.org/learning/index.html

All the fundamental tools&concepts to do the kinds of things you're talking about are covered in those examples.
