im designing a 3d graphic of a DNA strand. im using spheres to create the strand but the amount of co ordinates i have to do is really tedious.can anyone tell me a better way to do co ordinates?any resources i can use in this subject for creating such a graphic?

Generate the coordinates in the program.
The formulae from this page would be of help.

Generate the coordinates and use perspective projection formulae to get the cartesian coordinates.
