As a photographer I've been using processing for a few weeks, and I've really enjoyed extending the thought process behind Photoshop filters to make my own custom images.

The metropop exhibition lead to scripting an iterative particlesystem that is probably too large for animation, but looks wonderful when complete.

I'd love to make a full scale 300 dpi 8' x 4' version but I get a java out of memory (1 GB RAM) error. Darn.

Let me know if you find this interesting and I can try to keep posting and maybe get some help on my programming skills...

To export an image with a high resolution you dont need to arise your applet size. There are to ways to get high resolution images. First the pdf library which record your drawings and export it as a pdf. This pdf can you import in photoshop with a dpi of your choice. The other way (tile and stitch)is discriped in this thread:

I've test both version and never get problems with my memory.

Thanks for the tile and stitch suggestion. I personally use Autostitch for high resolution panoramas because it is free and has image recognition technology.

I'll look at it but somehow don't know how I could tile an iterative particle system with innate randomness.
