TXTing to Processing

Has anyone tried to send SMS or MMS messages to an online Processing applet?

From what I can gather I need an SMS gateway that will have a phone number assigned to it, and it will have an API to knock the info around with.

This is interesting: http://www.sephiroth.it/tutorials/flashPHP/sms/

so yeah... anyone tried this before? any hints?

THANKS!!!!

C

the sepiroth tutorial and the solution are practical although it is more commercial. if you would like an entirely free solution send sms via the smtp protocol or email rather. heres a link which lists the smtp email for various mobile service carriers. http://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm

i think most sms services use smtp so you should be able to send an email from most cell phone depending on your phone and your service provider. not that you can send a text message using verizon in the using your10digitphonenumber@vtext.com or your10digitphonenumber.
