Logitech Error: SetFileName failed (Read 1297 times)
Logitech Error: SetFileName failed
Apr 29th, 2006, 11:57pm

Today I installed QT7, even though I had already had a bad headache the last time I tried that about a year ago.

My configuration:
- WinXP SP2
- QT 7.0.4
- Processing 0114
- WinVDIG 1.01 / 1.05

- Logitech QuickCam Web (an old one, bought around the year 2000)

My Problem:
WinVDIG works fine, Processing recognizes my camera and turns its little StatusLED on.

When I try running one of my video capture sketches or the "WebCam" example code (both used to work well with QT 6.5), a windows popup window appears saying:

"0Logitech QuickCam Web-WDM : SetFileName failed."

When I click 'OK', I get this debugger output:

"quicktime.std.StdQTException[QTJava:6.1.3g1],-50=paramErr,QT.vers:7048000
at quicktime.std.StdQTException.checkError(StdQTException.java:38)"

So I think WinVDIG cannot be the problem, since I can see the video in the QTCap program. And it also doesn't look like a QTJava problem to me.

Yes, I tried everything I read in the FAQs ...

Any ideas? I love my Processing and I want it to feel good living on my computer! Thanks a lot.

unfortunately it's a quicktime or winvdig problem.. nothing has changed in the video library (except a bug fix for the settings() method) since 98.
