mark hill Senior Member Offline Posts: 316	improving on DV Oct 1st, 2005, 3:52pm   Does anyone know if the resolution of digital tape information as it's laid down is greater than what you get through DV (640 * 480 is about the maximum I believe). My original format is actually digital 8 if that makes a difference. If so, any ideas about getting it off the tape and into the mac!

JohnG Ex Member	Re: improving on DV Reply #1 - Oct 1st, 2005, 9:19pm   I think that DV is full TV resolution, so in the US that'd be full NTSC format, so 720 x 480, or for PAL that'd be 720 x 576 (IIRC), and the tape will almost certainly store it at that same resolution, as anythign greater is pretty much a waste for almost all applications.
