Identifying linear structures in image
Sep 22nd, 2006, 12:28am

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction regarding techniques of identifying linear structures in a grayscale raster image.  Basically I want to create vector data from a bitmap.

So for example, if I loaded up an image of a branched twig against a fairly uniform background, how could a set of line segments be determined for a basic wireframe of the shape?

Thanks for any pointers!
