a library for parallel port similar to "Seria

i'm currently developing a library for parallel port in java. i'm planning on extending it for use with Processing. the parallel port too can be used for wide range of data aquisition applications (plotting graphs, etc). its relatively easier to use than the serial port. it can also be used for controlling external devices using simple hardware unlike the serial port that requires a serial-to-parallel convertor on the other side. views are welcome.

I too am extremely interested in a library for parallel ports. It would be super-swell if someone could point me in the right direction.

Check out my portIO library at http://www.laurence.com.ar/portIO.

Included in the download are simple examples using the parallel port.
