Loading images is so slow!

Hi,

I am loading about 100 images into a PImage array using loadImage() and it takes over 30 seconds!

After I've loaded them everything is quite fast but it is painstaking everytime I run the application.

Why is this happening? Is there a faster way?

I am running WinXP BTW.
