When not stop()?

My overridden stop method doesn't seem to get called. Are there conditions under which this might happen?

Code:

public void stop() {

// blah!

super.stop();
}

seems that java is not guaranteed to call stop().. have made a note to try and straighten some of this out:

Seems that way. I'm calling it from the keyboard to make sure I get a proper clean-up.
