I don't know if mac version of processing is using something from this stuff, but it will be nice, and fast:

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/coreimage/

and another thing that sounds interesting:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Java/Conceptual/JavaPropVMInfoRef/Articles/JavaSystemProperties.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001975-DontLinkElementID_3
look for "apple.awt.graphics.EnableQ2DX"

This is the kind of addition/extension to processing that is possible because we're an open-source project, but it can't be near the top of the primary todo list at the moment because we're (Ben and myself) working to solve many more fundamental problems. We're also very committed to striving for parity across Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. For starters, this could be a great library for Mac users only. Another approach, I think, would be for someone to write a library that allows easy control over opengl shaders.

Hi, I think it would be very helpfull to have something like that. Perfect for pixelimage manipulation, very fast, great filtereffects! A Core Image Library still exists for NodeBox!

Hope somebody can do this for Processing, would be great!
