Upcoming processing.org site outage

We'll be moving to a new server in the next couple of days so there may be trouble while we make the move.

I'll make a post once the move has begun...

server movement has begun.. there will be a brief outage this evening, then things will be redirected to as.processing.org until the dns servers catch up (24-72 hours). if you run into anything funny (like being redirected in circles) please let us know.

server movement should be complete. until dns updates (1-3 days), everything will be routed through as.processing.org, until processing.org points at the new server.

let us know if you run into any weirdness in the interim...

getting an error "you must enter a string" when searching the old forum...

k, so things are a little bumpy as you get ping-ponged between the old processing.org (if your name server hasn't update yet) and as.processing.org (the new site). so this means that the login on the forum might be a little funny sometimes.

and the 'as' in as.processing.org will disappear once DNS has updated completely.

also had a little trouble thursday/friday because the outgoing "beta" announcement to all the announcement list members was choking the server, but that seems to be all cleaned up.

the bugs database isn't fully operational--it's got only 10% of the bugs, and the sync from the forum for usernames/passwords is incomplete. more soon.

at some point in the next few days, i'll shut off the redirect from the old processing.org site. at that time, you may need to reboot your machine to get rid of old cached dns entries that are pointing to the old site.
