There's some really good stuff here. TomC has mentioned it on this board before, but I'm curious for more ideas.

Should we start a new keyword for Processing related links because there are some non-relevant links under the "processing" tag?
People seem to be using this more frequently:
http://del.icio.us/tag/proce55ing/

But we've made a new start with the Processing.org domain and the beta release. If we promoted a specific tag from the website I think it would OK to change at this point. I'm really not happy with the "55" in main categorization. Getting rid of them was a good change.

It would be really nice to incorporate this into the website...

What do you think?

I've been using P5 http://del.icio.us/Ethan/P5 Looks like there's others too. Anyway I'd be glad to switch up my tags if something was agreed upon.

I think it would be cool to incorporate it into the site, although, I think I'd be as likely to just check del.icio.us directly - or subscribe to the RSS in my reader.

It would be interesting though -to see what's on this groups radar. I guess you'd need to filter the feed to make sure you're not reapeating links...

It would be cool if this site offered feeds as well (featured, exhibition, status, etc.) ... that's probably been mentioned before...

Looking at toxi's original naming for his feeds, I'm thinking it might be best to fully promote "P5" as the preferred tag. The "processing" tag has alot of unrelated data. We could encourage "P5" for del.icio.us and the Processing site could publish an RSS for Happenings (P5updates) and Exhibition (P5exhibition). Toxi has already provided P5exhibition.

Other choices include:

How about just tagging with processing.org?  Events etc. would be the so-called intersection of tags: processing.org+events, processing.org+exhibition etc.  Some people I know use "top" as a tag to forward things onto their own blogs, and to separate things which are personal from things which are public (even though technically everything is "public").

Renaming tags is easy on del.icio.us, and you can rename one tag into multiple tags.  I would gladly rename my processing tag to something which made it onto a list somewhere on processing.org if the current web team picked a scheme.

On another note, I believe group tagging is coming, which solves the namespace pollution problem.  Not sure exactly how it's going to work though, but when I find out I'll post here.

For happenings, how about using upcoming.org? I believe you can get tag feeds from that too.

e.g. http://upcoming.org/tag/media/ has a link to the event I added for onedotzero9 http://upcoming.org/event/18211/

Using Processing.org and mixing with other tags sounds brilliant. I'll advertise from the Processing homepage and we'll include the idea in the mass (beta) mailing we're planning soon.

I've renamed mine too.  I've kept processing so as not to break my old links, but all new things will definitely be tagged with processing.org

The new link is http://del.icio.us/tag/processing.org

Hopefully we'll start getting interesting related tags there soon.
