sure, it's obvious that running many things at once will slow down performance. so after quitting all and everything my sketch still was much slower (and studdddddering) as on the exact same machine next to me. ... after some testing i found the cause to be the mysql-deamon running on mine. thought i share that ...

i'm on a powerbook g4 1.25ghz / mac os-x 10.3.9 / java 1.4x / processing .85 (beta).
