mac testers wanted
« on: Oct 29th, 2003, 11:12pm »

i've made something (usefull) with processing that use 2 features that may not work with macs:
1) multiple jars files
2) java popup window

here's a test-case for it:
http://www.chronotext.org/processing/multi_jars/

if you're a mac user and have 2 minutes to kill, let me know how it works on your baby...

(i'm interested by the following different combos: os9, osx, ie5, safari, mozilla, sun java, mrj)

thanks!

Mac OSX 10.2.8 + Safari 1.0 + quicktime 6.3 = works just fine.

How do you get back the subwindow after you close it?

thanks jerry,

so: safari (i assume with sun java machine) is okay!

as for your question, it's not possible to get back to the popup window once it's closed (otherwise by restarting the whole applet)

i'm in the final stages of documenting and make public this "versatile-input-controller" for processing (it includes more features than in this example...)

thanks guys,

it's good news to know that IE is okay too...

anyone using MRJ instead of sun java?

meanwhile, here's a screen-shot of a "Controller" with its default set of components (the weird one is an "arcball"...)

the version that i've put online has deliberately only one slider, one "spinner" and one toggle-button,

is that what you can see?

thanks to all the testers! it seems that macs are tolerating this stuff pretty well.

meanwhile, i published the real "Controller" thing: http://proce55ing.net/discourse/yabb/board_Tools_action_display__num_1067559864.html
