i'm relatively new to all this, but i know enough about computers..
the problem i'm having is with the video functions.
everything defaults to my tv tuner.. so as i run code that wants to capture video, it captures tv. well. it captures a blank screen that is from an input on the tuner card.
however, i would like it to capture from the webcam.
i ran hacktv (which, incidentally, wants to default to tv) and can fiddle to get it to display the cam stream.
so i assume there must be a setting somewhere (i've google'd my heart away) but i can't work out how to either:
a) change the setting at runtime in java/quicktime/something.
or b) change the setting in a windows control panel (somewhere)
anyone else having/had these issues? i just don't know what to do (short of removing my tv tuner software!)

i found a crappy workaround.. i open the tv tuner shizzle with hacktv, then when i open an app in p5, it comes up with an error 'tv tuner in use' etc, then it defaults to next available device.. i get cam action, joy.
still not desirable, but effective.. joy
the possibilities are amazing
