Processing tennis

Maybe it would be cool if we made some Processing tennis, just like the famous Photoshop tennis. Someone posts a bit of simple code and another person takes that code and improves it. Just an idea... Comments please? Koenie

I dont know, man... all it would take to end the game for me is have some bastard like Ariel put in some quaternions or other such shit... and I am out. At least with photoshop, you can hit the filter library when running out of ideas. LENS FLARE!!!

don't worry man, i'm too busy for quaternionizing any tennis these days! but a surealist contest would be a nice idea anyway! a french writer called Georges Perec wrote once a whole book without using the letter 'e'... so why not applying these kind of rules to programming?

Can't spell 'setup' without an 'e'.

not such a big deal afterall (not to have a setup) (btw, it's still possible to call the setup method without using 'e' in java) but the "constraints" could just be in another place, like...

i like the one variable idea! (and pollux likes using bold these days) now, what about the following framework for the tennis: - the first round is starting with one variable, then, at each round a new variable is allowed to be added. - koenie is starting with the first round - then we use the order of appeareance in this thread for the next players

i think there is two ways of doing this: 1) focus on code Playing tennis from a programmers/coders perspective, maybe using the rule of only ONE variable. 2) focus on output Playing tennis from a not-so-programmers/coders point of view, maybe using the rule of only using CIRCLES. my 2 cents. Mikkel

I was actually thinking a bit more like the Photoshop tennis idea, but with unlimited players. Let me explain. The first player makes a bit of code, with reasonable output and posts that. Then anyone can try to improve that code to make it have better outcome. The code that is first posted can be improved again by other players. And on and on and on. This is fun for everyone, because everybody can play with other people's code. Koenie
