Hi, I've been playing about with real time video effects using my bog standard logitech web cam - its all working fine. I've now tried to hook up my DV cam to the app, but can't seem to get any sort of decent quality out of it. the quality is always bad. I can get decent quality out of the cam in flash, and in ImageMixer - the software that came with the camera. Is this something to do with the winDVIG software? as that shows the same poor quality as in p5. any ideas? Cheers Guy

i think you can use any device that is supported by the DVIG software, i'll experiment monday with a sony camera through firewire, so if it works i'll tell you.

jsyn plug in does not get "downloaded" the link installs the files for you. you should see someting along these lines in the little browser window: JSyn Installer build 011 java.vm.version = 1.4.1_01-27 java.library.path = /Applications/Processing 67/Processing.app/Contents/Resources/Java:.:/Users/methdman/Library/Java /Extensions:/Library/Java/Extensions:/System/Library/Java/Extensions:/us r/lib/java java.ext.dirs = /Users/methdman/Library/Java/Extensions:/Library/Java/Extensions:/System /Library/Java/Extensions:/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Ver sions/1.4.1/Home/lib/ext Installing Native library JSynV142 Library already installed at: /Users/methdman/Library/Java/Extensions/libJSynV142.jnilib Copy: http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/plugins/archives/libJSynV142.jnilib to: /Users/methdman/Library/Java/Extensions/libJSynV142.jnilib Native component JSynV142 downloaded successfully. --- Installing JAR file JSynClasses.jar Copy: http://www.softsynth.com/jsyn/plugins/archives/JSynClasses.jar to: /Users/methdman/Library/Java/Extensions/JSynClasses.jar JAR file JSynClasses.jar downloaded successfully. Note: you must restart your browser before running any JSyn Applets! Installation completed. what version of os x are you running? 10.3 jsyn works fine as well as SONIA sketches. - mohn
