Oooh, Safari didn't like that at all.

Lots of flickering between target cursor and default cursor, slight shifts in position (most notably, the resize cursor), and the cursor doesn't switch back once you move outside of the applet.

I am thinking this is more of a Safari bug because I have similar problems with flash movies on occasion.

that's annoying...

I'm not sure if there's a way to escape the problem altogether, but tell me if this version has any effect on the flickering:

Perfect.  Flicker is gone.  I wouldn't change a thing
(muttering - except maybe that color scheme...sheesh)

EDIT------
oops, I lied.  Nearly perfect, but the 'wait' cursor and the 'type' cursor flicker a little bit.  I think the problem with the wait cursor might have to do with the fact that the wait cursor should have an animation but the one in this applet did not (also looked a little funny, like an overlay alpha image was missing.
