win.xp desktop redrawing: is it only me?

Hi
 
there's something weird that happens on my win xp box.
Every time I run a sketch, all the windows "blinks" from time to time, and the desktop redraws (all icons disappear, and are drawn again). Has anyone ever experienced this fantastic windows hassle?
