how to open a previously editted file

there are many files in the sketch folder of a project, but i duno which one i should open in order to do the editting. so now i can only open files from the 'Open Recent' option but not open anyother files. can someone help? thx.

yeh anyone? i really dunno which file to open in order to edit my files.... so which is the source file that i should edit?

you should use the 'File' > 'Open' menu ... this shows a drop-down like menu of all your sketchbook projects, by clicking on one, the souce-file will be opened! however, if you choose to open it in some other manner, look for the .pde file! + m

i try that but it seems i cannot open a pde file in processing!!!

no you cant, the only option (if the .pde isnt in your sketch/default folder) is to open it in notepad or similar, open up p5 and paste the code in.

well then yell at fry, i think his "big release" which was supposed to be out by now ( coughslackercough ) will include the ability to open normally

Open your project, hit 'Use external editor', then open in notepad/whatever. You can change the location of your sketches folder using the config file.
