3d perspective too extreme

I made a simulation of a public art piece I'm installing this year in order to preview interactions I'll be putting into the system. I'm NOT a programmer, but I was able to get waaaay further than I thought just using the default 3d and translate tools. http://www.rickmu.com/tp/sim/ It's working well enough for me to visualize+ program my interactions, but I'd love to mellow out the perspective (Field of view?) so that it's not so extreme. Is there a global perspective variable I can set? Any hints or links to useful threads would be greatly appreciated! (so I left the link to source to respect the convention, but if you happen to look at that mass of spit and tape, please remember that I'm so very new to this!)

take a look at this old post: the idea is to play with the "fovy" variable...

Many Thanks, Arielm! your link and it's offshoots were most helpful. Now I've got the perspective to a much more human scale and I can concentrate on making interesting interactions! thanks again
