problems with webcam/transparency

i am playing around with myron. the webcam-library for processing. to get myself going i am modifying the examples a bit. when i draw filled rectangles on the screen, where i scanned some globs everything is fine (besides the miserable framerate). if i try to set the transparency of the rects down, the rectangles leave traces on the image, 'till the whole image is filled with white lines.
anybody here, who knows a solution to the problem?
should i explain more?
