Is the processing code for zipdecode public? we are working on a project for school and we think this applet could be useful.

nah, not currently, sorry.
it's part of my in-progress research, so i'm not opening the code though it's possible i will in the future.
it'd be fairly easily to rebuild it from scratch--the initial version was just a few pages of processing code. it's gotten more complex since (because of zooming and some other features in the midst of being added).
