Video/Quicktime Problems

My problem is pretty much exactly this:

Basically trying to load quicktimes, even the loading_quicktime example, the sketch window doesn't open and processing hangs. Using 0068, java 1.4.2, Quicktime 6.5, on XP. I'm not trying to do anything with a webcam, just load video. Has anyone else experienced similar behavior Any fixes

I had some problems before on XP as well, after running the Quicktime Updater, and used Custom Install.. I installed just all the available plugins. Anyway somehow that worked for me.
