Presentation Mode on OSX

With version 69, when I hit presentation mode (either in the menu up top or by keyboard shortcut), sometimes the applet is in a draggable window in front of the solid bg presentation color, sometimes it is not and exists inside the solid bg presentation color with a drop shadow.
Is this something I am secretly in control of? I haven't been able to figure out what might cause it. And the reason I put it under the bug category is that on occasion, if the previous presentation was non-windowed, and the current presentation is windowed, the last frame shown from the previous presentation remains part of the background with the draggable windowed version playing on top of it.
