screenGrab
« on: Jun 11th, 2003, 8:40pm »

Hi. I mentioned this before in the suggestions section.

There's a strange bug in the screenGrab() tiffs where they won't open in after effects (it says it has problems parsing the files) unless i run them through photoshop and just open and re-save the files. I'm guessing it's just a small thing in the way they're beimg written but i don't know what that is..

Oops. Bad grammar.
I'm using AFX 5.5, and I tried it on my mac and on the PC i'm using now. It does the same thing with sequences or just single frames.

I had the same issue of importing .tif sequence in after effects, but quicktime can sequence p5 tifs without problem

Sometimes the last frame of the sequence is an empty TIFF (0kb) and that gives me error when importing as a sequence... I deleted the empty file and everything then works fine.

Don't know if that's the same problem though.

that's interesting (re: the 0kb file).. could anyone verify if that's what's causing the trouble?

Yeah I think that 0k file is getting created if you stop the sketch between the time it has created the tiff file and filled it with data. I had the same problem but I just assumed that was the cause. I did some java stuff before P5 and it had the same problem when writing files.

I dunno. Is there even a way to prevent that from outside the sketch?

Oh. That's not the same problem though. It happens without the zero k file.
