clearing console when opening new sketch?

I seem to recall that there is a PDE param that will clear the console (or not) when rerunning a sketch, but what about when opening or starting a new sketch?
(I should be more specific) - when I start a new sketch or open an existing one, the previous console output remains. Perhaps that is a feature; then I should move this to the wish list forum.

i've just added this for megabucket. the same param will control whether the console should be cleared on each run, and whether it should be cleared when opening a new sketch. the param will be "console.auto_clear".
