Screenweaver Type Extention OSX

I very much dig all the experiments i've seen using processing.
There is a program called Screenweaver, which works with flash that allows you to embed a swf to your desktop. Is there an equivalent to processing?
This might be a question for an operating system forum.
I run both OSX. But does anyone have any clues to how to get a processing app to run on the desktop and stay there?
This might be under the wrong topic, and most likey i should post about using a java app as a desktop, but i figured i ask here first.

think about "Natalie Portman Reloaded" ( http://www.object404.com/cascade ) (not mine, but very cool) running on the desktop. that is what im thinking about.
