getSpectrum.. only for liveInput() ??

I am trying to draw a waveform (or FFT) from a sample that I read (without actually playing it)... is there any way to do such a thing?
I am using read() to "import" the sample. But I don't quite get how I can draw the spectrum..

Ok... just 1/2 minute after I wrote the question.. I see the connectLiveInput... so I guess that answers my question??
