MIDI+Synthesis --( JMusic and JSyn )--

I started to play with the promidi.zip librairies. I've done a controller for my WacomTablet with pressure and X+Y control. It works very well and it could give a lot of ideas about using P5 as a interface between controls and instruments, webcam structure for example. I was looking for a way to write midi files and I found this project here; http://jmusic.ci.qut.edu.au . There's a lot of things about midi structures and there's also objects for synthesis. I've played with this and it works very well. JMusic seems to be complete enough for Synthesis as for MIDI. Is JMusic is similar to JSyn, or CSound? It looks similar to me, but maybe experts see important differences?

Might want to check out JTablet, too, on a side note. Marcello

if i remember correctly, jmusic includes the jsyn library in it. if that's the case, it may be an interesting idea to have sonia use jmusic libs instead of just jsyn. i'll look into it. amit

Thanks for JTablet, I'm currently using amit's proposition for Wacom's Tablet, and it work well for what I'm doing. For JSyn, I'm not sure that it have been added to JMusic, it looks like two different projects. JMusic works very well now, and it gives good results with p5. More I play with, more I like it. I'm not a pro of synthesis, but you could find a lot of examples on the JMusic site. http://jmusic.ci.qut.edu.au/jmtutorial/t1.html
