Heal the World

Heal the World

With the looming news of war just around the corner, the world is
  at peace in prayer.
Let us do our part in healing this war-torn world and help
  in attaining world peace.
Each must start at his/her own backyard.
  At his/her own home.

-----
Notes:
- Demonstration of simultaneous signals for visual and auditory,
specifically the concept of 'play' and 'pause'
- Demo of MIDI playing in Java. MP3, among others are bandwidth
hogs; not suitable for low-bandwidth communities
- Progress bar to indicate percentage of song covered
- Would be nice if someone can synch the MIDI playing with visual
elements. I can't seem to find a good method that returns
  something useful for this

Heal the World (the song)
Written and Composed by Michael Jackson.
Produced by Michael Jackson, 1991.

mk, i'll expand on that. if u designed an applet using features of a newer java vm (because the new P5 writes code for the newer java version now), and ive upgraded to the latest P5 without the latest java upgrade, then that may be where the problem lies.

in any case, ive upgraded my java vm and it works fine now

forgive my lack of code reading, but do the moving dots react to the sound file directly?

Yes and no. If you're thinking of it as something like a substitute for an oscilloscope or a series of bars in the more traditional way of visualizing sound, then the answer is no. I can't seem to find a good method (for MIDIs at least) that returns usable data for me to be able to plot real-time graphs. However, yes, the music relates to the moving ellipses in the sense that if you pause the music, the ellipses also pause their position.

Better late than never. Better have than not have.

I personally think that his song/s are good, both in music and in meaning. I wouldn't want to be prejudiced with how the public perceives him as an artist, and worse, degrade him as a person. Who are we to judge another

Hmm... only a few days to go 'till the March 17 deadline. Been recently having quite a number of miracles worldwide (apparitions of Mary crying, Christ crying blood, some rendition of Our Lady of Guadalupe somewhere in Mexico, etc).

... harsher punishments for parole violators, and world peace.

that's only for the environment itself.. the code that is exported is for jdk 1.1 only, unless you do some non-1.1 things in your code and its not caught by p5 during export..
