I assume all smooth does is render at twice the size and scale down... you may as well leave smooth off and double the width/height of your movie? (on some level of thinking).
flight404, this is something kinda beautiful about the reaction of that magnetic movie clip simulation midway through, but theres not much to the whole interactive side of things... are there any more useful applications of the math? Maybe in a simpler situtation? Different strength magnetic blocks (using concentric circles to represent strength at different points?)
