http://www.freewebs.com/jkopin/star/star.html This is my first sketch that I have posted. The color scheme isnt my favorite but it still looks pretty cool... 1000 particles that move at a random, but constant, rate try to reach the mouse. The ones with a higher movement rate reach the point first and the lower ones last, creating a snakey kinda thing. It would be cooler with the tip in yellow tho... but I dont know how i would do it. aloha, josh

g'day Josh, that's a nice first post! it's interesting how the particles group together like that, creating a string that seems to be stuck to a piece of glass or something. if you wanted the closest particles to the mouse to be yellow, you could modify the color of particles in realtime based on their speed of adjustment, or their proximity to the mouse position, or a combination of the two. if you wanted to play with the virtual space a little, you could throw in some environmental influences, like wind or wet areas. you could even modify the colours of the particles based on their susceptibility or proximity to the environmental effect. "wet" particles could turn green-blue and slow down a bit, particles being blown about by the wind could turn grey, etc. ~jacob
