apologies to reas and co. for not getting this done in time for the p5 frontpage, i was playing a gig mp3-djing music from our netlabel when a drunken student knocked my laptop to the floor, i've only just managed to retrieve some files from it, this code had been altered to use the postscript library but i haven't had chance to dig that out. thought i'd upload this version here as is cos' it might interest someone somewhere. very messy and not at all elegant. not been coding for a couple of months because of the computer problems but now i can start again and move on.
