happy new year everyone! hope everyone had a bit of a break there for a bit. thanks to everyone who sent new year's greetings. status update from the coding end of things.. rev 68 has been delayed a bit, having been derailed from p5 work because of things to attend to regarding my dissertation (i'm trying to graduate this spring). i've still got a bit more of this to deal with but am hoping to get back on it this month. i'm really sorry it's taking this long. the other not-so-good news: it's likely that the "new" graphics engine won't make it in for beta. the developer hired to work on it really flaked on us and i probably won't have time to clean up the mess. unfortunately it's also late enough that we can't just hire someone else. the good news: simon greenwold, acg alumnus who's spending some time teaching over at yale architecture, has been hacking away on p5 and it looks as though he may have some tricks up his sleeve (vastly improved lighting for 3D, non-blocking network i/o and other goodies) which will be great additions as things get rolling again. he actually forked p5 for their own use (called 'multiprocessing'), and we'll probably bring in some of their changes to the mothership. lots of great work from their course site: http://www.architecture.yale.edu/872a/ check out the (eerily familiar) gallery link in particular. other good news: toxi, as usual, has been hacking away here and there, so more goodies on the way there too. previous status report: http://processing.org/discourse/yabb/board_Collaboration_action__display_num_1068440987.html
