Alpha Channel On/Off

Hmmm,
Alright, I'll ask 2 stupid questions in one night 
The alpha channel seems to only have an On/Off response when using it with fill/stroke...254 -> 100% transparent, and then 255 -> 100% opaque?

Ok, nevermind. This question and my last one were both related to 3D transformations. Fills and the Alpha channel aren't working right now with noBackground "and" 3D transformations. Otherwise it works fine for me.
