no recompile in 0052 (PC)

hey,
I have a weird problem in proce55ing (like that spelling better than the straight one) 0052, running on a PC with WinXP. it won't recompile a program if I make a change. when I tell it to run it just runs the program as it was the first time I ran it. any changes to the code is ignored.
at the moment I have to reeboot it to recompile. bummer. 0051 still works fine. I tried deleting the copy I had and unzipping a fresh one, to no avail.
anyone with the same problem?
