won't start with new Ubuntu
Feb 18th, 2008, 8:32am

I just upgraded my Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 Alpha and now Processing won't start. I'm assuming that I need some library that I don't have anymore. When I try to open the program, nothing happens.

What can I do to fix this, or where should I be looking for help? I'm still quite the n00b.

Thanks.

I have the same problem and have tried fixing it many times. Run Processing through the terminal (open up the terminal and then drag-n'-drop the 'processing' icon into the terminal) then paste the errors here. Currently I have:

java: xcb_xlib.c:82: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.

I have the same problem, Processing not working in Ubuntu Hardy Heron. I installed Java RE 6, and ubuntu-restricted-extras...but no luck.

this is not a processing bug, please use the ubuntu install thread:
