Why don't you use biTorent as a downloading option?
 
I think it's great to download big archives.

BitTorrent? As in, here?
 
BitTorrent is designed for sending very large files via distributed networks. The Processing archives aren't too big, so the system would not work as well.
 
If 100 people are downloading a movie file, for instance, it will (probably) take several hours to get the complete file. So, there is a longer period of time in which they will be sharing the file.
 
If 100 people are downloading a 30 MB archive, it will take only a few minutes, and then people will close BitTorrent and stop sharing the file.

That would obviously not be a good idea.

agreed.. i don't think bittorrent will help us much. right now it's hosted at MIT and the pipe should be as fat as possible, though kind of a bummer for our international users. perhaps in the future we can start hosting mirrors.
