Is sending a Pull Request (PR) for GSoC applicants necessary?

My doubt is , is sending a PR a must ? Does equal weight age is given to my past work or will I be at an advantage if I am a part of the community for a while ? I am bit confused.. Sorry for being too abstract but as proposal time is just weeks ahead , should I concentrate more on good proposal(+ my previous experience on the project) or on my PR's to increase my acceptance rate ?? Thank you :) !

  • You should work on your proposal but of course it is always better if you can contribute a PR or two :) (if you have previously contributed to processing then you can show those PRs instead).

  • What is a PR in that context please?

sending a "PULL REQUEST" , accomplish small task and send it about whatever I am going to do

  • So is it required or my projects will do the job ?

  • Hello @sleep_404. Past contributions or PRs are not necessary, we will give most weight to your proposal, considered in the context of your prior work samples and other parts of your application.

  • @lmccart thank you very much for your reply :) !!!
