This forum is so fast compared with Zoho - shear bliss. :)

I notice in the structure that the forums are grouped by type, for instance

• General
• Annoucements and forum guidelines
• Share your work
• Events & Opportunities
• General Discussion

The problem I see is that a member can post discussions to all five forums rather than just the four sub-forums. For instance there are discussions under both General and General Discussion which is confusing. The same problem appears in other groupings.

I think it would be best if posting to the parent forum was disabled. What do you think?

This has been discussed in the A new forum thread in Zoho.
In some cases, like "Questions about Modes", it is intended: we show two specific and popular mode, but people using another mode can still post in the master section. Blocking the parent section and making a "Other modes" section would only add to the confusion (there are already lot of sections...).
Indeed, General & General Discussion are a bit redundant in this case.
