Hey guys, I have been trying unsuccessfully playing with the intel real sense and Processing, in the hopes of getting it to behave in a similar fashion to Kinect. I cannot access the data, though I can initialise the device, and Intel is withdrawing support for Processing and Java development it seems.
This leaves me in a bind. I need a depth sensor that is able to be small and mobile, without the need for external power. I know there are a few OpenNI2 compatible devices on the market from Asus (Xtion2) and Structure (Occipital).
Are these based on the same frameworks as Kinect? And are they potentially compatible with Processing?
Any insights greatly appreciated.
