  • @yash=== sorry i cannot read the error...

  • Please type the error rather than relying on a screenshot. If you have short sample code, please edit your post, paste it in, and format it by highlighting it and pressing Ctrl + o.

    This is the error message:

    Error:java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.android.ide.common.process.ProcessException:

    Error:Execution failed for task ':app:mergeDebugResources'.

  • @yash=== you said you have made changes to layout; what kind of changes? - Are there any more errors details in console? have you already compile successfully other apps with AS?

    As for the errors it s difficult to answer because they can be fired by a lot of reasons (bad resources in folder res, images...) (jars added...)

  • i changed from fragment layout to relative layout.

    @yash===

    i don't understand: processing main activity creates a fragment add the sketch to it and all your code is for it: you cannot change this fragment layout! - Working with AS+processing means that you leave p5 main activity make its job...

  • @akenaton=== then how can i change my app layout. I want to make a layout with start button, so by pressing it the game starts!!

  • This is the way to add a widget using processing. I a sure you have more options in AS. Adding a button would be similar to adding a EditText widget:

    For buttons:

    @yash1173===

    you have 2 solutions for that:

    first one remaining in the fragment as in processing IDE: in this case you have to add a layout to the frame layout created by P5 and put there your button; i have already posted here for showing how to do (for editText, or textView and here for a button from the android widget)::

    https://forum.processing.org/two/discussion/14206/on-screen-buttons-without-apwidgets#latest

    second one is to create some new activity and adding your button to this activity; of course you have also to quit (as soon it is created) the fragment && start automatically the 2 activity with an intent.
