what does library/processing/console do, and may i delete files from it (mac)

edited May 2016 in General

On my mac computer, in the library folder within my user (not the computers library folder), there is a folder called processing, which contains some .txt files and a folder named debug, which only contains 800 bytes, and a folder named console which shockingly contains 2.41 gigabytes... which is 1.6% of my tiny macbook airs harddisc; As far is i can see it contains error (.err) and out (.out) files of between a few kilobytes and some megabytes from every single time i have ever run a processing aplication (which over the last 5 years has build up to quite a noteaple amount of data); as far as i can see this includes everything that i have printed, and some more data that i don't quite understand.

I would of course love to reclaim that much data, but most importantly i would like to know why this data is being collected, and what consequenzes removing it would have.

(btw. i am not using processing 3)

it is exactly as you say - logs from previous runs and can be deleted.
