RemoteVLC not running in OS X; command line issues?

The RemoteVLC library works fine for Win10 / Processing 2.2.1 / VLC 2.2.2; Now that it's in OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 / Processing 2.2.1 / VLC 2.2.2 , even the sketch doesn't respond at all.

I've already attempted to uninstall / reinstall VLC 2.2.2 vs 1.1.1 as per the previous thread; VLC doesn't launch at all for 1.1.1. (Couldn't find 1.1.7 for OS X)

Command line is: /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC ~video.ext -intf=rc rc-host=127.0.0.1:1234

I'm probably having a PC-to-MAC-translation-fail.
