How to install a mode system wide

edited November 2013 in Questions about Modes

Hello everybody.

New on processing, I've discovered here a magic box to teach computing.

In a school environnement, I try to install Processing system wide. No very difficult, I just have to decompress it on the computer.

I wanted to do the same thing with modes, particulary javascriptmode.

I installed on an account JavaScriptMode, then I Copied sketchbook/modes/JavascriptMode to the mode directory of Processing, hoping for the mode to appear for everyone. (under Linux)

Alas, it did not.

Isn't it possible to install a system wide mode ?

Thanks for reading so far and TIA for your kind answer

Sincerely. Laurent

Strange, in my Lubuntu, path is the same as yours works, but it works: :-??
    ~/sketchbook/modes/JavaScriptMode

Pay attention that modes must go to inside "sketchbook" location folder.
Go to preferences to configure that!

You may try to create a symlink to /modes/ inside every ~/sketchbook/ folder, pointing to the real /mode/!

Same can be done in Windows using a NTFS file system. But for folders, it's called a junction! :(|)
