I think this is not as easy as one would hope. It also depends on what brand and series of camera you have. Some brands, for example Canon, do have an SDK available. However that one is C-based I believe, so getting something to java requires some more effort. An alternative that might work is use a program such as (the open source) EOS Camera Movie Record. To find programs like these just search google for: camera as webcam. Depending on how the program works (interpret camera as webcam or write video directly to disk) you can then use it in your sketch accordingly. So the good news is there are some options, the bad news is that there is no out-of-the-box solution for Processing as far as I know.

right now im looking at this app tha comes with a dll to make calls from another app PSRemoteLib.dll

I try to use with jna but ima receiving an error that library has not found,  think that i have to register the dll but i cant. The jna code works with native win7 dll. So im stuck on that..... I have not choose yet a camera so i can look at variuos app.
