G4P GOption problem with SetFont()

Hi,
I'm using G4P in an application, and am trying to change the font on several instances of GOption, using the SetFont function. I've used it for other components sucsessfully, but using it on GOption (as in option.setFont("font.vlw", 16); where option is an instance of GOption) just makes all the text disappear. Is there something I'm missing that's different about GOption from other components? / Is there another way to change the font?

The first thing to say that the although the setFont method has 2 parameters the first is the name of a system font whereas you are supplying a filename for a font created using the Create Font tool in Processing. So rather than "font.vlw" it is expecting something like "Arial", "Times New Roman", "Serif", since font.vlw is not a system file a SansSerif font of the same fontsize is used.

Although it is possible to use different fonts (and colours) for different components G4P uses styles to set global values for fonts and colours. The default font is SansSerif size 11. You can change the global font to Arial size 14 by adding the statement

G4P.setFont(this, "Arial", 14);

inside setup() after the call to size() and before you create any gui components.

To change the font for a particular component use the setFont method as you did before but provide the name of a system font.

There is no significant difference between the setFont methods for the different components so I am a little surprised that you found that it worked for some not others.
