Hello word,

Im wondering if its possible to control my mouse cursor on my computer/laptop using processing through arduino reading off the serial.

I have 2 pots one for x axis one for y axis and what i wanna do is read the output of these and translate them somehow to make my mouse cursor move.

im completely new to arduino and processing and im hopeful that someone will help me get started with the code/ explain exactly what is going on with the code.

you can use javas Robot class to control the mouse.
See an example by Philho how to do that.

import java.awt.Robot;
import java.awt.AWTException;
int xx = 10, yy = 10;
Robot robby;

void setup()
{
size(500, 500);
try
{
    robby = new Robot();
}
catch (AWTException e)
{
    println("Robot class not supported by your system!");
    exit();
}
}

void draw()
{
xx = (xx + 2) % width;
yy = (yy + 2) % height;

// Might need to confine to sketch's window...
robby.mouseMove(xx, yy);
}

the rest, mapping the data from your pots to the coordinates should be easy.

thank you! one last request if you're so kind to provide: is there a link you can point me to, to get the arduino to talk with processing. I bought a book by oreilly on both getting started with arduino and getting started with processing but I haven't gotten to the part where it talks about interfacing the two together. It would help me build some self motivation if you could be nice enough to give me some tutorial links i can read ahead on.
